Overview
The main techniques of expression are painting using traditional woodcut-waterprint and Oriental painting techniques. Traditional woodcut-waterprint using a combination of traditional methods and modern materials. The whole process is done by hand, where the aqueous pigment is placed on a wet woodcut, the wet ricepaper is raised and rubbed directly with the baren to create the desired effect. The artist repeatedly print and dry the woodblock dozens of times to make a single, seemingly simple circle. In the process of this repetition, the change in color that the layers are stacked up creates a rich color texture through the combination of the direction she intended and the coincidence.
주된 표현기법은 전통 수성목판화와 동양화 기법을 이용한 회화 작업입니다. 전 과정이 수공으로 진행되는데, 젖은 목판에 수성 안료를 올리고, 젖은 화선지를 올려 직접 바렌으로 문질러서 원하는 효과를 만들어 냅니다. 작가는 단순해 보이는 하나의 원을 만들기 위해 수십 번의 찍고, 말리기를 반복하는데 이러한 과정속에서 층층이 쌓아 올려지는 색의 변화는 작가가 의도한 방향과 우연의 결합으로 풍부한 색의 질감을 만들어 냅니다. 작품은 '공(空)' 시리즈로 비어있음을 의미하는 '공(空)'은 원으로 표현됩니다. 원형의 이미지 자체는 단순하지만 원과 원의 관계, 원과 원의 사이와 경계, 이미지 표면과 그 너머의 이면 등에 대한 작가의 끊임없이 고민은 이미지가 존재하는 다양한 화면과 공간 밖으로 확장됩니다. 하나의 원과 또 다른 원의 중첩, 혹은 원과 원의 닿을 듯 말 듯한 경계 그리고 그 사이, 원과 원이 함께 있으므로 인해 파생되는 에너지 등에서 우리는 많은 것들을 생각할 수 있습니다.
